Rebel t2i was launched in February 2010, less than a year after EOS Rebel T1i (500D) was released. Rebel t2i sports an upgraded video recording capabilities compared to the Rebel T1i. Canon eos 550d rebel t2i now offers full HD movie recording with full manual control and you may also use external stereo microphone. It is also designed with a new widescreen (3:2) LCD panel and has improved button and offers the ability to customize the Auto ISO function. The other big news is that it offers selectable frame rates, 1080P at up to 30 fps, 720P at 60 or 50 fps.
Due to the aggressive competition in the market, Canon has decided to throw down the gauntlet with the most highly-specced Rebel. This camera serves as an update to the Canon Rebel T1i. It has some notable enhancements to its video capabilities, enhanced LCD, an updated metering scheme inherited from the 7D, and a resolution jump to 18 megapixels. It also has improvements in design with larger more accessible buttons.

Construction
Canon rebel eos t2i is very small and light. It’s about 0.6 inch deeper compared to T1i but its body weighs the same 18.6 ounces and looks extremely similar to the T1i. It has a very comfortable grip, textured and rubberized and workable for single-handed shooting. Durable build, yet not made out of heavy metallic materials as many DSLR cameras are. Its control layout is almost identical to the T1i’s. But many of the buttons are redesigned which made this newly released dSLR to be flatter and a tad harder to feel. There’s also a dedicated button for jumping into the Quick Control panel. However, the control layout is the same as it’s been for many generations, and the layout pretty much works. Canon did move the button that doubles as movie record and Live View enable.
Low Light Performance
canon eos 550d rebel t2i not only can go up to a significantly higher ISO level, but performs much better compared to Rebel T1i. You have to waste less time editing your pics.
Image Quality
Image quality is pretty good! Canon rebel eos t2i has excellent photo and video quality which is comparable to high end Canon model cameras. However, I would suggest you would use fast SD cards to get the best results. It produces usable images up to ISO 3200. I’m thrilled with the photos I have gotten so far! This is really a great buy in my opinion based on performanace and price.
HD Video
The HD video capability is perfect and very clear. The AF points are accurate and view finder is very bright. Takes good pictures with low and medium ISO up to 400. I’m loving the large LCD display and its clarity. Much better resolution than expensive cameras. Canon rebel eos t2i outguns many of the ‘upper entry level’ and mid range SLRs on the market today in terms of specs.
Canon also includes Creative Auto mode. It has capabilities you can view as an advanced Auto mode or dumbed-down Program mode. It is also noticeable that it replaces shutter and aperture adjustment options with two sliding scales: Exposure – brighter or darker and Background – blurred or sharp. This function implicitly adjust shutter speed and aperture. It’s an increasingly common approach for beginners who’d like to take some chances. This camera also retains My Menu, which lets users build a go-to list of the most frequently accessed menu settings. Canon also adopts the interactive control panel for directly changing most shooting settings via the information display on the LCD which can be accessed thru the Q button.

This camera is great! I have not used video yet, but the image stabilization works well and the images are phenomenal.
